There is no doubt that starting a new website or blog is fun. You probably can’t wait to share your site with the world. Unfortunately, the sad reality for many new homeowners is the complete absence of vehicles.
It doesn’t matter how great your website or blog is if no one knows about it and no one sees it.
Search traffic from Google is a must for all website owners and bloggers, but it usually takes a few months to find search traffic. If you don’t want to wait for Google to start sending traffic to your site, what can you do?
This article will tell you about practical and effective tips that you can start using right away.
Create free apps
With so many different options for driving traffic to a website, creating free services is often overlooked. It has been shown that it works best for me with a few different sites over the years and can work in almost any niche.
Basically, you will be creating something and delivering it as a free download to your site. You can make it freely available to anyone who can download it, or you may need people to opt-in to your email list to get it.
Obviously, you’ll be able to expand the email list faster if you force people to sign up for a freebie, but you can get more links and more traffic if it can’t be downloaded by anyone.
Back to your free guest post resources
Visitor visits to other blogs are often cited as a way to get traffic to a new blog. While guest posting can be very effective in getting in front of the target audience and creating a brand name, regular guest posts are unlikely to generate a significant amount of traffic you click.
A great way to get a good flow of traffic from your guest posts is to combine this approach with the previous point about building free resources. If you write guest posts that allow you to comment on or improve your free service you will have a much better chance of sending visitors to your website or blog.
Readers are more likely to click on a link that leads to a free resource than to click on a link in the author’s bio.
Think of essays that you can write that will naturally allow you to name your free app in the body of the article.
And if you find that your visitors are rated on the Google homepage by keyword or phrase that people want, it may be even more limited to your site.
Chat with people on your blog
When you start a new website or blog, you may not have an audience to promote your content. You have to build that audience from the beginning. But if you can get other people to download your content, that can lead to traffic and new readers.
One of the most effective ways to get people to promote your blog content is to write input content. An easy way to do this is to use chat posts.
All you have to do is reach out to influential people in your industry or niche and see if they will be open to questioning your blog. If they say yes, you email them with specific questions and then use their responses to create a post.
Once the post is published, you will send them a link and ask if they can imagine scaring their viewers. Most people will be happy to share the link with their social profiles. Others can send it to their email list or link to a conversation with their website.
As the owner of a new website or blogger, it can be intimidating to reach people by chatting. Do not be afraid. Most people will say yes, even to new blogs. Just be realistic about who you are trying to reach. If you have a business blog, don’t expect Elon Musk to have a conversation. But you can also get in touch with people who have good communication following and are a great way to grow your site.
The same option is to host a podcast as part of your site. Instead of doing text-based chats, you can record audio or video chats that will be published through your podcast.
Pro tip: If you’re looking for people to talk to, look for people who have a social media page or media on their website that shows the places where they are exposed. After the interview is live on your site, ask them if they can add a chat link to their page. Some of them will, and the link is easy to find.
Publish Experts Roundups
A professional collection of blog posts that include quotes or responses from various people in a niche or industry. You can ask 20 people the same question and share their answers in a blog post (including a link back to their site).
Bloggers love to participate in professional roundups because they provide exposure and a simple link to them. Even if you are a new blogger, it is easy to find people who are willing to participate in a technical roundup that will be published on your blog.
In terms of using other people’s audiences, this happens after the publication of the post. Most people are happy to share a link to your post with their social profiles when you put them on a professional cycle. You can find more people who share posts with their audience, which can provide excellent exposure and specific traffic to your new blog.
Use the Double Survey Technique
Kyle Byers from GrowthBadger has come up with a strategy that is almost identical to the expert collection and called it a double-blind testing process. He used this method to increase his traffic by 843% and wrote a case study describing the process.
This type of blog post will take a while to create, but you will end up with excellent content that attracts traffic and links.
Here are the basic steps:
Find a good topic for early research (something currently has no statistics available)
Start a survey or try to find data on it (survey # 1)
Ask experts for their opinions on the results (survey # 2)
In Kyle’s case, he did research on more than 1,000 bloggers to come up with some interesting blogging statistics, and then he went to a few blogging experts to get their opinion on the data.
The end result is a highly insightful article shared more than 1,000 times, shooting GrowthBadger traffic. Most of the professionals who participated in the project shared it on social media, and started things.
This approach can be doubled in any industry.
Connect with other Bloggers
Every website owner or blogger would like to get links. Incoming links to your site can help improve your search engine rankings and clicks. Giving links to others also provides another opportunity to get people to share your content.
While this is unlikely to increase your traffic by 843% as a double check process, it is the easiest thing you can do with all the posts you publish, and it will take more time.
Here is a summary of the process:
Include links to other bloggers in all posts. Make sure you get high quality content to link to.
Access them after the publication of the post. After the publication of a post, send an email to any blogger who found the link in your post. Let them know that you value the content they offer and that you are connected to it. You can also ask them to consider sharing your post with their social media profiles if they like the post.
Combine. Don’t link to the same bloggers all the time. Although you can take this route with all posts you publish, you do not want to email the same people every time.
Mark when sharing posts with your social media profiles. You can get more shares if you tag people linked to the article.
Below, you’ll see a Google Analytics screenshot showing the first few days of my financial blog, Vital Dollar. I used this method and emailed the people mentioned in one of my first articles. One of those people I emailed linked to my post in his email, which sent a few hundred highly targeted visitors to my brand new site. You can see that the traffic was light for a short time, but even though that was over, the traffic was much higher.
Publish List Posts
People like lists. There is no denying that listing can be very good for traffic. It is recognizable when shared on social networks, creates challenges and clicks, and is easy for students to scan quickly.
Post lists can be built in any niche, you just need to find topics that will delight readers. The title of your post list does not need to be 100% different (some websites and blogs may already have a list for the same topic), but you should aim to make your post better and your topic stronger than others. You can use the free tool as a great CoSchedule analyst for help.
Be sure to include numbers in your articles. Numbers work best to pay attention and curiosity.
Don’t Ignore Search Engine Optimization
While you may not be able to get a large amount of traffic from Google for a few months or more, SEO is an important thing to keep in mind as you begin. The work you do early will lay the foundation for future vehicles. When you get search traffic, you don’t have to work hard with all the fullness you get.
- Learn the basics of page hope. Search Engine Performance can be intimidating if you are new to it, but the basics are not that difficult. Having a basic knowledge is good enough to get you started. This is a good article that I can put in detail here, but you can read everything you need to know in this SEO guide on the Backlinko page.
- Write posts that point to specific keywords people need. If you want to get traffic from Google, you need to write content that identifies keywords and phrases that people actually want. You can use tools like Ahrefs, Semrush, or KWFinder to do keyword research. Those tools cost money but KWFinder has a free trial and Ahrefs offer 7 days for $ 7.
- Consider a search. To be listed on the Google homepage, you need to provide the type of content that Google thinks the searcher was looking for. Before writing a post to identify a keyword or phrase, search the current content at the top of the list to get an idea of what Google thinks about the best content. If all the top pages are commerce websites, it is not possible to include them on the first page of the blog because it does not match the search purpose.
- Note the word count. Today, Google tends to love deeper content. In many niches, this often leads to better content support. Use the free Word Counter Plus Chrome extension to test page count above Google levels. If they are all long, you will need to write a long article if you want it to have a chance to rate. Well, it also needs to be beautiful (not just tall enough to be tall).
- Create links to your site. Inbound links from other sites that lead to your site are very important for SEO. This is a good article and there are many ways you can create links, but this post offers ideas: 8 Ways to Make Backlinks to Boring Niches.
- Include internal links to your blog. As you write and publish new posts, you should link to other posts on your blog, which can also help with SEO.
- Stick to it and be patient. It takes time and effort to build a search engine traffic, but it is well worth the effort.
