Mi Bands are very popular in India because of their affordability and features. These groups were also very accurate when it came to following the exercise trajectory of our testing knowledge. The new Mi Band 6 includes SpO2 tracking, which has been the most anticipated feature. Xiaomi has also added a bigger display and the power to follow a variety of exercises. Is Mi Band 6 a complete package now? I put my hands on the Mi Band 6 and here is my first appearance.
Price for Xiaomi Mi Band 6 in India
Mi Band 6 costs Rs. 3,499 in India (and owners of any previous Mi Band model can receive an Rs. 500 discount). It is only sold in a black band and Xiaomi will also offer many band color options including Orange, Light Green, Maroon, and Blue, which will need to be purchased separately.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 looks very similar to the Mi Band 5 (Update) at first glance but the difference is still visible when its indicator is bright. It doesn’t have a rectangular display like the previous model – instead, there is a large AMOLED capsule-shaped panel that covers the entire front surface. This display has a 152×486-pixel resolution and there is a bold glass on top with an anti-finger coating. It has small bezels on the top and sides while the chin thickens significantly.
There are no buttons on the device, and all communications are based on touch. You can swipe on the screen to access various features and functions of Mi Band 6. This exercise band is water-resistant to up to 5 ATMs.
Beneath Mi Band 6 are the heartbeats and tracking of SpO2. There are also pins connected to the magnet charger to charge the band. Mi Band 6 has a 125mAh battery, which Xiaomi says can be charged in less than two hours. The new fitness band is said to offer 14 days of waiting time.
There is a Bluetooth 5 connection to Mi Band 6 and it requires a friend app on your paired smartphone. You can pair the Mi Band 6 with Xiaomi Wear or Mi Fit apps, and the dynamic band is compatible with Strava. It will support phones running Android 5.0 and above while iPhones running iOS 10 and higher can also be paired with Mi Band 6.
I found a large display that was bright enough when I used it in the house and was quick to respond to my posts. It has multi-clock face support and Xiaomi says you can choose from over 60 of them to make your Mi Band your own 6. You can also use the app to customize various widgets and set app alerts on this tight band.
Mi Band 6 is able to track step by step, and also has a wider range of tracking exercises than before. Xiaomi says the Mi Band 6 can be used to follow up to 30 types of exercises, six of which can be found automatically. There’s also sleep tracking, and Mi Band 6 can give you a decrease in your sleep quality and breath quality while you sleep. Other fitness features on the Mi Band 6 include stress monitoring, menstrual tracking, and the Personal Activity Intelligence indicator.
Xiaomi has brought SpO2 tracking to the Mi Band 6, as well as the ability to incorporate a wide variety of exercises. It also gets a great display, but the battery capacity seems unchanged.
